Wow, what a night. We had an incredible amount of not only individuals, but energy flowing through the gym tonight. The kids were full of questions, and yet - still from what I could gather - they had a lot of fun as well. We talked about John's Vision of Heaven in Rev. 21 and 22. The look of interest and amazement was truly inspiring tonight. Seeing everyone picturing the Holy City, and just realizing the shear greatness of God was a pure Kodak moment for myself.
We had numerous new students come out and I hope they enjoyed every moment of it. For myself, it was just great to have a roomful of Jr. High students together to laugh, learn, and bond.
After our Jam Night, the leadership team got together at a local eatery to talk all things Jr. High. I think we came out stronger not only as individual Jr. High leaders, but, more importantly, I think that we were able to grow together as a leadership team. I was able to share with them the many thoughts I had since returning from San Diego. It allowed us to get on the same page, and share what we felt as important in order for us to grow as a ministry.
To me, this night was essential in order for the Jr. High ministry to grow. Not only did we get a great turn out, but the connections made with parents allows for relationships to grow between parent and leader. I would like to say thank you to all the parents that take the time to bring out their young tweenies and teens to a night where they can wrestle with their spiritual feelings and doubts in a safe environment. This gives them the chance to ask those questions that can clarify what and why they believe what they do.
That is why I love my job.
